I took the kids (the 3 that are 6 and under) to the Circus to Save Lives this weekend. I have to say first of all, that it is a shame that so many kids are stuck in front on TV's so much, when there are opportunities to see so much more. We saw animals, like you would at the zoo, clowns, intense high wire performances, motorcycles (my 2 year old's favorite) in a ball, and jugglers of all kinds. When exactly, do you decide that you could have a great career if you could only learn to rotate a spinning fireball with your feet while laying on your back? Anyway, the kids had a blast, and I was thrilled that they weren't cooped up in the house. Please, don't forget to get your children out of the house. Even if it is to play football in the backyard.
I also wanted to say thanks to The Figg Tree Foundation for giving us the tickets. They make a generous donation each year to the Circus and get tickets in return. They then give the tickets to anyone that has helped raise money for the foundation. We, of course, made our donations at the toy stands and concessions.
If you have any connection to someone with colon cancer, please visit the Figg Tree website.
