Five rules for men to follow for a happy life:

1. It's important to have a woman who helps at home, who cooks from time to time, cleans up and has a job.

2. It's important to have a woman who can make you laugh.

3. It's important to have a woman who you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.

4. It's important to have a woman who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.

5. It's very, very important that these four women do not know each other.

2 more Super Turbos - 2 more cashes again....

Another 5th place in a $15 one. Look below for results of the other I was playing simultaneously.

I was going to be chip leader by far, but my AQ sooted lost to Q10off. Still 3rd place is pretty good for my 4th Super Turbo of the night and I cashed in all 4.

2 more Super Turbos - 2 more cashes....

5th place in a $15 one and 1st in another $7.50 one. Man I love these!!!

Here are the results of the one on the right....

Start of 2010

(from www.officialpokerrankings.com )

The good news is that I have a 69% ROI so far this year. 2009 was profitable for me but not as good as 2008 only because I did not have a 2K+ score in 2009 (In 2008, I had a 6K+ score). I had one 1K+ score in '09 but it came early in the year.

October and December of 2009 were horrid for me. That is bringing my 120 day rating way down, but I found some mistakes and January has been pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to building my bankroll back up through the Super Turbos (see this post) and then taking some bigger shots again.

I would really like to get to the kind of success this guy has been having lately.

Hope the tables are treating you well....

45 player super turbos (start with 300 chips)

You have got to be playing these. Or at least at some level. Over the last 120 days, I have played 56 at the $3.80 level. That's a total of $212.80 in buy ins. I have a total of 5 first place finishes plus several other cashes for a total of $467.64 in winnings. That's a profit of $254.84 or 120% ROI.

At the next level up ($7.50 buy in), I've played 36 tournaments for $270 in buy ins. I have $331 in winnings or $61 in profit (23% ROI).

And finally, at the $15 level, I have played 7 tournaments for a total of $105 in buyins with $63 in winnings. That's -$42 in winnings or a -40% ROI. (I think I could come out +ROI on these with more tournaments played, I just need a bigger bankroll to feel comfortable playing these on a regular basis).

Here are some key points to know if you play these:
*A typical 45 player super turbo lasts 35 minutes if you finish in first place. This is a HUGE reason for me to play. A lot of potential return for a short period of time.
*1 double up will get you to the final 18.
*2 double ups will get you to the final 12 (assuming you are at about 800 in chips).
*If you can get your stack up to $1,200 in chips, you should final table.
*If you final table, you should cash. It's rare that I final table without cashing, although it does happen.
*Try to only shove unopened pots. A lot of people shove with any Ace, so a shove with 77 after someone else's shove is -EV. A shove from anywhere with 77 is +EV.
*Wait for premium hands. AA, KK, QQ and AK are all a must. Unopened pots in late positions can shove JJ, 1010, AQ and KQsooted. Everything is shove or fold. Once you get down to final 15 or so you can start playing normal poker depending on your stack size.
Good luck. Let me know if you like these too.

Help Haiti

This is from LJ's blog which she cribbed from Brian's blog:

CR instructor Verneer is organizing donations for Haiti here and has already raised over 6k, and FTP is also doing a bunch of tournaments and fake tournaments. Cribbed from Brian's blog:

1. Aid For Haiti tournaments: Starting tonight and running through Sunday, there will be a number of “Aid For Haiti” tournaments at a range of buyins for players to participate in. The first one is at 2PM ET (under an hour) and it’s a $5 + $5 ($5 from every entry will be donated).

2. Aid For Haiti “no-play” tournaments: These are “fake” tournaments that won’t run. For anyone that wants to make a direct donation, they can enter one of the 10 different tournaments (all “scheduled” for Sunday at 6pm ET, 3pm PT) and not worry about playing a tournament.

3. An “Aid For Haiti” user has been set up for direct P2P transfers. Anyone can transfer any amount greater than $5 to that player ID.

All money raised will be matched by Full Tilt Poker and sent to various charities, so for every dollar you donate, an additional dollar from FTP will be directed toward helping the cause. Personally I will be making a direct donation, as well as possibly playing in some of the tournaments. I urge anyone who can help, even a little, to do so as well.

****************************************

for those who don't want to use poker monies (like me) you can donate directly through red cross here

edit: apparently pokerstars is matching donations. info on their blog.

Congratulations Washington Redskins Fans

Being one of those loyal Broncos fans who didn't think Shanahan should have been fired, I can only congratulate the Washington Redskins and their fans.

Shanahan will get the Redskins back into contention, if not first place by the end of his 2nd year.

So sorry for you Cowboys fans and Eagles fans (Giants don't matter)....

Thank God he didn't come back into the AFC West....

Just my thoughts

I posted this on Shabazz's blog but wanted to share it with everyone:

I miss playing the blogger tournaments because I felt the level of play there was higher than the buy ins. It gets frustrating playing an $8 tourney and somebody beats your AK with 59offsuit (I didn't say 72 offsuit because you know that cracks aces all the time in blogger tourneys). But I don't have the bankroll for a lot of $200+ buy ins so I just ride the low limits.

But seriously, overall, I felt I was learning while playing in the blogger tourneys because the play was much better than the general play in $10-$26 buy ins on fulltilt poker. Some days, I feel like I regress playing in the low limits on fulltilt.

Some might think we are all just a bunch of donkeys, and we probably are. GL to everyone in 2010!

Here's a worthy cause poker tournament in January

Click on the form to enlarge.

A very good friend of mine started this charity and is having a tournament on the 30th of January, 2010. Dennis Phillips is playing as is my buddy Mike Eise who won a WSOP bracelet last June. If you are in Saint Louis, I'd highly recommend you play. I'm certain it will be a good time.

My annual charity tournament will be on February 27th. Save the date. Or better yet, plan to play in both of these charity tournaments!

1st in one and 7th in the other

180 Gold still

I tried several big tournaments but can't seem to get deep enough to make it worthwhile. Seems like 180player max tournaments are perfect for me.... Here I am final tabling two at the same time.
