I think this will play faster than you think.

I downloaded an excel spreadsheet that calculates the Patience Factor and Skill Factor for tournaments based on the structure. I plugged your numbers in. Click here to see the screenshot.

Hit me up at gadzooks64 at gmail dot com if you want the spreadsheet.

P.S. I hate antes in home games. Really slows things down but that's just a personal preference.

So, when your final table starts at Level 9 four hours in - 180K chips in play/9 players - 20K avg stack, which is 8BB? Yeah, I don't think you'll have any problem finishing that off in an hour.

Jump from level 5 to 6 (400) then 7 (200) seems odd. - you probably meant to go to 400/800/100 in L6, then 600/1200/200 in L7.

Alternately, how about a structure that starts a touch shallower early but bumps up more gradually?

50/100
100/200
150/300/25
bk
200/400/50
300/600/75
400/800/100
bk color up 25s
600/1200/200
800/1600/200
bk
1000/2000/300
2000/4000/500

yeah,it's a little shallow early, but it smooths out the level jumps a bit, except for the final table.

I LOVE the feedback. Thanks.

Zooks, I totally overlooked the total cost per round with the antes, so I think I will tweak that. Thanks for pointing out that spreadsheet. It really helped.

Heffmike, you are right. I think level 7 is actually wrong. I may go BB 400 then 600 then 1000 then 1600. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'll post the final and how it went after next Wednesday.

I forgot to mention that this will be for 13 tournaments over 10 months for the same 36 players, with all at least average or above average skill level.

well, at least 35 of them have average or above avg skill?
