I'm going to see CHEAP TRICK tonight. It's my -once a year, take off work early, make no other plans, see my favorite band of all time -night.

I saw Cheap Trick for the first time almost 25 years ago and they are just as FUCKING awesome now as they were then.

Rick Neilsen still runs bounces around with seemingly endless energy for an "old" guy. Robin Zanders voice sounds as perfect as it did all those years ago. Bun E Carlos ditched the cigarettes and looks fit (making me think it was required by his doctor) and was right on like usual. And Tom was his usual straight laced self, although he didn't sing any songs this show like he has in most shows I have seen him before.

Overall they rocked the house. Usually, they blow away both of the other bands after them, but I will say Def Leppard was incredibly good.

I can't wait until they tour again next year. I'm really sad I can't get to Vegas and see their Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Show.; July 31, 2009 at 8:52 AM
