So here we are with the biggest poker event in Saint Louis History and I'm not playing. The first weekend it was here, was Easter and the next weekend was my son's birthday, so we were booked on the weekends. Normally, I could take off work, but I just got promoted to a newly created position, so I've been swamped trying to set up everything at work.
Bleh.
Now to the real story: My poker club sent someone (Jordan Portel) to the main event ($5190 buy in) and he made the final table. I know of 4 people from our poker club that played in events. Of the 12 events, we have had people at 3 of the final tables (Tom Grasso, Bill Emerson and Jordan). Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
You may remember that last year, one of the guys from my poker club (Mike Eise) won event #28. I got a check for $12,000 from that. Now, if Jordan Portel can win this event today, I will get just shy of $3,000.
